I just tried to post this bloody article and it's not showing up anywhere! Furthermore, when I went to try again, LJ asked me if I wanted to restore the one I had in drafts!! And it was this one!!! What's weird is that I can see the bloody thing on my recent entries, but it's invisible on my friends page!

:stabs LJ:

SO, trying again, cause I'm really frustrated:

Is there someone out there who could point me to a nice step-by-step Joomla tutorial for dummies? The one they have up at joomla.org is way too complicated for me.

Plus, upon install, Joomla comes equipped with hundreds of articles, categories and sections I don't need and only serve to confuse me. I'm trying to recreate the look of my plain html website in Joomla, and I'm just about to tear my hair out! I'd hate to think what will happen when time comes for me to make a presentation of my thesis on a website run by Joomla!

I can see you! And I could see your first post on the topic just as well too. I'm sorry I can't help you though. I wanted to use Joomla once, but after checking it out, it looked way too complicated so I gave up!

Ohh, that mood icon... I've never seen anyone use that one before. He does look very enraged!

I was just so angry that LJ was not showing my post that I went back and added it again. I've been working on the bloody thing the whole day (not to mention numerous days before I had to give up due to school obligations) and this was the last straw. I can't just give up, I need to learn it since I will probably have to do a website presentation of digitizing cultural heritage for my thesis. But that's still up in the air. :(

Well I hope you can figure it out. That would be a cool presentation. Maybe something will just click, and it will all make sense! We can wish at least.

Also, re: LJ, sometimes it takes a while for my Friends page to update with new posts. I think it's just an LJ kink, and nothing that you're doing.

:( I just have no patience these days. Work is stressful, home is stressful, I have absolutely no inspiration (can't tell you how many projects I scrapped recently, digital and traditional), and I will have to spend my winter break slaving over textbooks. I've got a major exam on the 20th. If you know of a good, simple CMS, let em know, will ya?

How are you doing? Any news on the job front? I hope you get to be one of the people they hire!

Stress sucks. *hugs*

My cold, or flu (not sure what it was), is finally starting to go away! I can actually breath through my nose, and don't feel like I have razor blades cutting my throat when I swallow. Thanks for asking. :)
I won't know about the job until later next week. I'm really not getting my hopes up. Even if they like me, I will still have to go in for another interview!

i wanted to comment that i see both posts, too.

unfortunately, i'm not a coder, so i can't help with Joomla. when i want to make a web-page, i end up doing it in M$Word, and then deleting all the 'extra' stuff... not the best way, i know, but the easiest for me.

; _ ; Thanks, I was just so frustrated with the whole thing that I was seconds away from chucking my computer out the window. I managed to fix the galleries, but I haven't figured out how to enable user ratings yet, and there are plenty other things that are broken. The link is http://mag7.aidadesigns.me/ if you want to check it out.

I have to learn this because the main domain (http://aidadesigns.me/) is also run by Joomla, and that's where my calligraphy and watercolors will go eventually, not to mention my thesis and other stuff.
