A New Start

I'm back today after being away due to illness in the family.  My mother's been diagnosed with breast cancer and I've been with her throughout her operation and after it.  She's recovering at home, and the doctors are very pleased with the way things are going. 

I've been making wallpapers as a means of trying to keep my emotions from overwhelming me.  I wasn't going to  post them, but my mom saw them and encouraged me to do it.  They are animal themed wallpapers, and I made one for each of the boys, except Nathan, because I couldn't figure out which animal to use for him.  I need your suggestions on that.  I was thinking of maybe making a "Mother Hen" for him - what do you think?  You can find the wallpapers at my Scrapbook .

Your wallpapers are *lovely* though! Just gorgeous. I'm amused that when some friends of mine and I were thinking of animal associations for the boys a few weeks ago, we came up with a bull elk for Buck as well. :D

For Nathan...well, I don't know since you gave the bear to Josiah. Good luck though, I can't *wait* to see it. :D

I ditto Sara and Sally - your wallpapers *are* gorgeous. Glad you've found a very creative and beautiful way to work through a hard time. The best of luck to you and your mother - you both deserve some time to rest and recoop now. Take care of you both.

So sorry about your mom. A good friend of mine is recovering from that illness at the moment, so I know what a long process it is. I'm glad to hear she's doing well!

I have to say: Wow, gorgeous wallpapers! I love them! A good animal for Nathan might be a turtle. In some native cultures the turtle is the symbol of healing and Nathan seems to have a connection to the native people as well, going to the reservation in The New Law and his relationship with Rain. Just a thought :)

I'm so sorry about your mom, but am happy the doctors are pleased. My sister is currently battling breast cancer, so I know it is a rough road. She's doing well, though, and it sounds promising for you mom. :-)

Hello! I'm glad your mother encouraged you to post these lovely wallpapers! I hope for a good recovery for your mother and I know how difficult family illnesses can be so I wish the best for you and your family.

Your header is lovely too with the misty background and the house with the effect that makes it seem as if it's fading back into time. I love the leaning Ezra too who looks like he's coming out of a relaxed lean into an alert state.

The backgrounds for the wallpapers really make me think of the old west, antique letters, and fading memories. I tried to think of an animal for Nathan but all I could come up with was the raven, which is clever, intelligent, curious, and has a majesty all it's own in flight: all things I think of when I think of Nathan.

I hope you continue sharing your gift with us all!

Thank you for your words of encouragement! I'm glad you like the wallpapers and the header, and I will continue making them whenever time and circumstances allow. I like your suggestion of an animal for Nathan; I did some quick checking and it seems to be a good choice for him. I'll upload the picture as soon as it's done.

I'm sorry to hear about your mother. But I can see why she'd encourage you to post these, they're beautiful.

For some reason the only animal that occurs to me for Nathan is a Zebra. Probably because he gives me the feeling of being half in one world and half in another (and I believe the zebra is meant to represent healing).

Glad to here that your mom came out of the surgery okay. We'll be praying for her, you and all of your family. Sending your mother, you and your other loved ones, healing, loving energy.

The wallpapers are gorgeous. Loved them all and downloaded them to use as wallpaper fom my computer. Hope you don't mind.
As for the animal for Nathan, I don't know
