This entry should serve as a repository of answers to challenges I participated in over at [livejournal.com profile] m7land. Swiped the idea shamelessly from [livejournal.com profile] nikojen. :)

GRAPHICS

I won third place in the Black&White icons challenge with one of my two icons; it was a tie with [livejournal.com profile] nikojen.

My second icon was of Mary. The scene is from "Penance", and Mary is heading home from work, fearful because there's a killer loose in town. I had written a haiku about Nathan ("Contradicts himself, Hands that heal can also kill; Brilliant is his smile." - my first piece of Mag7 writing ever!) for a writing challenge and liked the process so much that I wrote another one inspired by this icon. Imagine that!

Dark night approaches,
a sound is heard in darkness,
killer on the prowl.

Pausing at the door,
bright eyes search the empty street,
wary of the night.

Whipped by the fierce wind,
bathing in the lamp light glow,
blonde hair turns to gold.

I'd like to try and expand this into a larger scale wallpaper, possibly including the haiku.

My second answer was for the bookmarks challenge. Looking back, I probably should have used a witty reading quote, but my muse didn't want to go in that direction. So I came up with this:

June 15, 2010: My next entry was for the icon set challenge, where we had to create a set of icons with a different dominant color for each icon. I'm happy to say I won 1st place!

and that one of the icons also won in the vote for individual icon:

June 23, 2010: First place in the Quote Icons Challenge!

Tie with [livejournal.com profile] sparrowsverse from [livejournal.com profile] m7teamtanner:

July 9, 2010: First place in the Group Wallpaper Challenge!

That is all for the moment; I will edit this post whenever I have a new challenge answer to add. This will be tagged as "m7land" for easy reference.

Thank you, I'm so glad you liked it! It took me a long time to clear up the original image to be usable for the icon because it was so grainy. It felt like I'd been working on it for hours after I finished it.

For the wallpaper, I think I'll go with a grungy texture, to mask the graininess. And I'll have to find a nice readable font for the haiku.

Thanks for the votes! Both of those were easy to make, and I loved working on them. I think I should make a set of Mag7 bookmarks; maybe I'll even be able to find caps of the boys reading.
