Go pink for October
Oct. 1st, 2009 10:27 amYou all know I lost my mother to cancer and how much that affected me. I will never get over that, and I hope that thinking about her will be easier.
The month of October is considered to be a breast cancer awareness month. For the duration of this month, I will change my default icon to that of a pink ribbon, and I will include some graphics and links in my sidebar to places promoting this event. I hope you will do the same. At the end of October they will be moved to my profile to be brought out again next year.
As time allows, I will also try to find links to interesting articles and events. It is my goal to make as many women aware of this as possible.
I wish you all the best, and that you never know the pain of losing a loved one in such a way.

Date: 2009-10-01 08:42 am (UTC)Not in regard to breast cancer but other cancers. My father, Grandmother and Uncle all died of cancer and I have another Uncle with cancer - and even though she wasn't human, my dog, who I had to put down because she had cancer.
I'm all for supporting cancer awareness.

Date: 2009-10-01 09:52 pm (UTC)I am so very sorry for your cousin. I hope the diagnosis will not destroy the will to fight. My mother fought until her very last breath.
Same here, and I wish you all the best.
