My three favorites

It's something I made in honor of my three favorite shows: the Magnificent Seven, the Invisible Man and Star Trek in all of its various incarnations.

My reasons for loving Mag7 are many and various, and also connected to my dad and our shared love for westerns. I love the charaters and the way all of them are there for each other, inspite of their differences, and how they start changing because of each other (even though Ezra fights changing the hardest of them all), and how their friendship tuns into being a family  I love the way the actors portray them, and I think they were perfect for the roles.  And finally, it was the last show my dad and I watched together before I moved to another city, looking for work. 

Invisible Man was such a cool, weird, witty show, with great characters and a wonderfull twist on the old "man can become invisible" premise, that it's just unbelievable that it was cancelled after only two seasons (still, it has more episodes that Mag7).  The two main characters start out as complete opposites, and during the course of the show become as close as brothers.  There's no way to explain this show, you simply have to watch to believe how good it was.  

I'm not even going to try to explain Star Trek.  First of all, it's too darn big, and second, it's a show a grew up with, and the message of humanity finally uniting is just as strong today as it was when it was first made. 

In the end, I have a couple of questions for you: 

- what are your three favorites, and why do you like them? Is it a character that drew your attention, or the stories, or maybe a favorite actor?

Pretty wallpaper which I've added to my folder of your wallpapers which I have on my computer. Hope you don't mind. 8) I really like how you have overlapped Chris's hand on Ezra's shoulder and then Ezra's hand on Nathan's shoulder. Do you by any chance have just that M7 image wallpapered? I'd love to add it to my folder of your works please.

I've never seen the invisible man but two of your three are some of my favorites too. M7 was a classic western movie which was one of my dad's favorites and mine too and when we heard it was being made into a tv seies we just had to see it.
I can't believe its been 10 years as of yesterday that the boys first rode onto the screen and into my heart. I knew Michael Biehn from the Terminator movie, Dale Midkiff from Time Trax and Ron Perlman from "Beauty and the Beast but it was Anthony Starke's portrayal of Ezra that caught my attention. There was so much more to Ezra than just him being a gambler and conman and I couldn't wait to discover more about this intriguing character. I also enjoyed the chemistry between all the seven men. One thing I loved more about the tv series than the movie was that in the series all seven of the guys lived. I disliked that four of the seven in the original movie died.
Anyway, I am so glad that the PTB decided to let Buck survive that sword across his chest in the pilot because if I remember correctly there had been talk of killing off his character at the end of the pilot. Also I am glad that Ron stayed on as Josiah because the show would not have been the same without either character or the actors portraying them.

Broke this into two parts, Aida, because the reply was getting too long. But I have to agree with you about Star Trek too for the reasons you mentioned. One other reason I enjoyed ST is how former enemies(Klingons and humans, Marquis and Starfleet banded together)united and worked together. The chemistry between the casts was also terrific and I enjoyed that a lot. You also got my muse going, what if Buck and Will Riker where in Starfleet Academy at the same time? Or Ezra had been in Tom Paris's situation? Stop hopping around plot bunnies, go join the others in pen and let me finish here.
Okay, my third favorite is the Sentinel which is a series about a Police detective with enhanced senses which had been dormant but came online five years prior when he had been a special ops captain on a mission in Peru. Jim Ellison neeeds help with his enhanced senses and turns to Blair Sandburg, anthropology student who has researched 'sentinels' with enhanced senses and becomes Ellison's "guide."
The chemistry between the two leads had me hooked from the first episode.

Yes, it makes perfect sense. It's so great that you and your dad both liked the original movie well enough to give the series a chance, because that's how it was with me and my dad. Our mutual love for westerns is one of the special thinkgs that just the two of us share. He's an electrician, and my sister has always been good with her hands, so she'd help him repair appliances and such. Being an anti-talent that I was with such things, I wasn't allowed near them, so I was jealous. That was until I discovered westerns had LOTS of horses! (I wanted to be a horse doctor ;-) ) It just grew from there.

If you ever have a chance to see the Invisible Man, do! I have bothe seasons, but for some reason I can't copy the episoded (they're DivX), or I'd send them to you. It's such an unbelievably good show, heartbreaking at time, goofy, at others, but always witty, with friendship and hard-earned trust between two main characters, Darien Fawkes the Invisible Man, ex-cat-burglar, and Bobby Hobbes, ex-CIA, FBI, NSA, bi-polar paranoid secret agent. The bantering between those two is just so hilarious, and over time they come to trust each other implicitly, risking their live for each other. Here's a sinopsis:

Small-time thief, Darien Fawkes, is facing his third conviction and the prospect of
a life sentence without the possibility of parole. But salvation comes in the form of his brother, a brilliant scientist in the employ of the government. In return for his freedom, Fawkes agrees to take part in his brother's invisibility experiments. A synthetic
gland is implanted into his brain, which secretes a substance that bends light around Fawkes, rendering him effectively invisible.

The gland secretes a mysterious substance called Quicksilver. The Quicksilver secretions enable him to become invisible at will, but they unexpectedly also degrade his higher brain functions, unleashing his dark impulses and pushing him towards insanity.The inevitible destruction of Darien's mind can be only partially and temporarily suppressed by a counteragent, administered on a frequent basis by the Keeper,who also works for the agency. Consequently, Darien has struck an uneasy deal: the counteragent in return for serving a clandestine government agency as a secret operative.

I had heard so many good things about the Sentinel, but unfortunately, our TV stations don't treat such shows very well, usually showing them after midnight, which doesn't work for us hard-working folks. Maybe it will show up in our video stores eventually.

About the wallpaper, no I don't have just the boys, but I can try and make it again. Once it's done, I'm sending it your way. It's so cool to hear you have a whole folder of my walls!!! I have some more that I want to post today, made using the still from the second season DVD. A friend who went to England got it for me, and I'd like to compare the covers and stills with the American version. One other thing, disc two is rated as 12 for the American audience, and 16 for the British. ??? Are I suppose it's because of Wagon Train, but why not disc 4 as well because of Obsession? Are the British more sensitive about adultery and some innocent kissing shown on TV, vs. Chris walking half-naked, people getting killed and covered in blood?
