I'm taking a break from a (really depressing) translation to rest a bit, and I thought I should try something. I've been seeing various word counters around, for BigBangs etc., but I've never seen one for drawings or paintings. So I spent a couple of minutes online, looking for a simple counter I could re-work into something suitable, and came across a progressbar at honorless.net. I spent some time playing with the css and came up with this:

From the original:
1 / 30 (3.33%)

to my version:

~ Drawings ~

1 / 30 (3.33%)

The code I used was the following:

I'm sure someone has already come up with the idea, but I had no patience to try and find it so I customized one myself, using what little css knowledge I had. My laptop doesn't seem to show colors faithfully so I have no idea whether the ones I chose look ugly on your screen, so if you plan to use the code, feel free to customize all to your preference.

What a neat idea! Are you time-limiting yourself? 30 in a year? So did you finish your first watercolour? How is your painting coming along?

Thank you! I thought since writers can have their counters, why not artists too? (Though this looks a bit squashed in my layout because of the entry width; it's much better looking in a wider entry.)

Yes, I think 30 in a year would be manageable. At first I wanted to do something crazy, like one a day for a month, but then I came to my senses! There's no way I'd ever be able to pull that off. I do have some watercolors I've already done, and I'm particularly proud of the little bird one. Just check my watercolor tag.

My painting right now is on a back-burner. I do have some things I want to do, like illustrations for JoJo's Strange Bedfellows series. I've already planned the scene of the attack on Ezra, and I'm trying out various sketches. (I'm embarrassed to say that I had promised to do this months ago, but was never able to set aside the time to even start it.) It's going to be difficult, and I'm going through some anatomy for artists books. Oh, and I'd LOVE to paint Nathan - Rick Worthy has such a gorgeous smile!

The bird is wonderful as is the little cat! For a while last year I was doing speed painting with a friend, every Friday for one hour. And even though it was only for six weeks, we still have a couple of weeks where things fell through, sigh. Sometimes life has no taste for artistic things, I swear.
