444. Old Bridge diving competition

was held today in Mostar. I wasn't able to go this year, but hope to be there next year. My sister was busy so she didn't have a chance to go and take some pictures for me. :(

The winner of the head diving part of the competition was a fellow she went to high school with. He's been diving for years now, always achieving great results.

Yes, especially considering that it's 24 meters high, that the Neretva River is very cold, fast and has some dangerous rocks below the surface, and that mid-day temperatures can rise above 40°C. People have died jumping off the bridge, professionals and amateurs alike; the most recent victim was an Australian tourist in February this year.

Oh, no way! I would be WAY too scared to ever even think of doing anything like that at all, ever! I get scared on the normal pool high dive and climbing up ladders. Heights are evil.
