I'm going to try uploading an image I want to use as a header to my journal in the future. I altered it digitally just to have an idea how it may look if I did try to paint it myself. It will probably look a bit wonky for a while. :)

ETA: typo

I just changed my background to one of the ones LJ offered. I really like its look
Much richer than what I had before

It's the Old Bridge in my home town. :) ♥

Of course, I hope to do this by hand, do a watercolor painting, scan and edit it, and then upload as a header. I want it to trail into invisibility to the right side, since I have a large monitor and the image cuts off quite noticeably for me.

I was going to ask if it was not the bridge near where you live.
It is gorgeous..............something almost fairytale about it
I think I read a story once in ff where it described a bridge like this

It does have a fantasy-like quality, whether you view it in broad daylight or at night, with lights shining down on it. I unfortunately don't live there any more, but it is always in my heart...

It's beautiful! I have an HD monitor and the bridge pic does stop on the right side, just like your monitor. If you want to make the pic wider and have it visibly trail off (via gradient?) will you still be able to see the grass in the background picture?

Before I forget, I know you've been busy and also not feeling well but I'm still looking forward to more graphics from you for the Mag7 bingo. :)

I will definitely play around with it some more. I don't have any good graphics programs on my new computer, and am looking into free ones. I do want it to trail off into a gradient, and will try to make it so there's little bit of background coming through.

Oh yes, I've been working on the wild mustangs card, and I'm thinking about which to do next. Any suggestions?

And in case you're interested, here's the original photo, from Panoramio:

I looked for your bingo card but I can't find it. Do you have it posted here somewhere? Could you link me to it? BTW, have you tried GIMP? It's open source and free. And good!

That bridge is so beautiful and now I can see how you kind of edited out the people.

And you're right, none of your posts are timestamped. That must be part of your theme?

I have no idea why they aren't timestamped. I didn't turn them off on purpose, and I didn't even notice until now. I'll have to go through the style sheet.

I tried GIMP, and I found I'm so used to Photoshop that it's very difficult for me to get used to it. I keep expecting it to have things it doesn't. I tried the modification that makes it more similar to PS, but it crashes every time. It's frustrating.

The Old Bridge has a really special place in our hearts. It is a UNESCO cultural site, built in the 16th century, and it's been used for a high diving competition ever since it's been built 445 years ago. It was destroyed during the war, and rebuilt using the original stones retrieved from the river, using the same techniques that were used when it was originally built. For many locals, seeing it destroyed was like being stabbed in the back.

As for the Mag7 bingo, the master post is on Dreamwidth. I plan to add a link to each piece as I finish and post it.
