It's bad enough we are under geographical restrictions for books, movies and TV shows, now this:

Not only are international users prevented from uploading and sharing their photos with other, but they can't even view images posted by North Americans. What the hell is sooo speshul about North America that they feel entitled to restrict the rest of the world like this?! Screw you!

Well, if you follow the attitude of an alarming number of my countrymen, North America is the center of the universe.

:sigh: I wish it weren't so. You guys are such a contradictory bunch. One one hand you've got bright people interested about learning about the world and traveling, on the other there are those who wouldn't be able to find the capital of their own state on the map, and be smug about it.

All this crap about geographical restrictions really annoys me! I want to give them my money to get the latest show, or the book I want to read, but they won't take it. I want to recommend this service to others because it's really cool, but then they revoke my access to it, with no warning. Well, hell.

Now I've got to go and see what I'm going to have to re-upload. :(

Oh, don't get me wrong; lots of Americans are more sophisticated than the stereotypes, but we have a prominent segment who are not only butt-ignorant about everything, but are proud of it.

It got SO much worse when we elected one of them not once but twice to the presidency. I cringed for eight long years.

I suppose that's true of most people. Most of our own politicians are not just cringeworthy, they're downright criminal. Elections are in October, and I'm despairing over who to vote for, since the choice is between two evils...

Oh please.
This is reminiscent of how it cleans up even things which are not questionable e.g. when I said to someone
"you are so hard on him"
:D
They censored it..............................which burns me up. First of all it was made on a journal to friends ONLY.............
I hate that kind of thing............and now this.

I'm... not sure I understand this. Cleans up what? What isn't questionable?

what you stated above smacks of censoring, intervening where it is not necessary.
and so much more that is wrong now...........
I did not mean to take away your original topic, but merely to build on it a bit.

No, it's just that I couldn't figure out the wording; I couldn't work out who/what you meant by it. Government or something else? And yes, it can seem like censoring, or blocking those one feels to be undesirable in some way.

Oh sorry. I was speaking of ff.net.......................

Aha! Because when I read it I had the feeling that it was supposed to be an answer to some other post. So ff.net corrects words it deems inappropriate, no matter what the context is? The mind boggles. Haven't they heard that words can look the same yet have different meaning? Unbelievable!

I was so incensed even though I was told that ff.net has a history of doing that.
What it saw as inappropriate was indeed appropriate e.g. the one I cited:
You are so hard on him
:D
ie jokingly chastising her for whumping him.
My comment had no sexual connotation to it yet they felt it did and
blipped out.
I began to post private messages to the writer.............as I find the sort of thing they were doing unacceptable.

I know! I've been pulling my hair out over this! Well not literally, but you know what I mean! (>_<) I used Tinypic for most of my [livejournal.com profile] m7land entries, and since Dreamwidth doesn't have anything resembling LJ's Scrapbook, I've made an album for my Dreamwidth uploads. Now I have to go back and find those images, and replace the code where I can. For [livejournal.com profile] m7land I'll probably have to delete the entries, since I don't have a paid account and can't edit comments. Argh!
