You might not agree, but it really pisses me off when someone posts an entry without a title. I agree there's no need to title each reply and comment, but at the very least an entry should have a title.

Another thing is livejournal signing me out, then losing my place. I often leave several tabs open to entries I want to continue reading the following day. Firefox remembers them and reopens them for me. More and more often, livejournal keeps logging me out when I go to refresh said tab, and forcing me to the login page. That wouldn't be bad in and on itself, but it drives me absolutely batty that it then completely erases the history of that tab and I can't even backspace to it! !"#$%&

What's up with LiveJournal? There's a huge

on the page. Is it just me or is it the same for everyone? There are kinkmemes I'm following! It can't be gone!

I really hate it when there are no tags in a community that boasts thousands of entries. How am I ever supposed to find anything specific? Read through all the entries one by one, on the chance that I'll find a few I like? I no longer have the time for reading like that.

I'm going to test a few styles from ruthenia-alba on Livejournal, so don't be surprised if my journal looks a bit wonky for the time being.

Is anybody elses friends page behaving weirdly? LJAddon shows me there there's been an update, but when I actually go to my friends page, it only shows me entries from yesterday. What is going on here??

Hmm, LJ seems to be having some troubles - my last night's post didn't get cross posted, and I was unable to even access the website all day yesterday and today. Anyone else have any problems with it??

Has anyone seen this latest Facebook/Twitter idiocy?

"We're pleased to announce key changes to the Facebook/Twitter Connection that address your main privacy concerns, as follows:

* We've disabled the ability to cross-post comments on privacy-protected entries and screened comments for non-Cyrillic users. If you've opted into Cyrillic services, you'll still be able to cross-post protected and screened comments. (If you recently opted into Cyrillic services to purchase custom userheads, you can opt out and retain your purchased userheads.)
* If you haven't added your Twitter or Facebook information to your Account Settings, you will not see the cross-posting checkboxes when posting comments. You will still see the checkboxes when posting an entry, but they will be disabled.
* You will no longer see cross-posting checkboxes when you edit a comment.

We've also enhanced the cross-posting feature so you can choose an image from the entry or comment that will appear as the thumbnail image on a cross-posted Facebook update. To select an image, click the "Choose a pic" link when you cross-post an entry or a comment to Facebook."

[emphasis mine]

How stupid is this?! Not only can Cyrillic users still crosspost comments to protected and screened entries, they can now use a photo posted in those entries and crosspost it as a thumbnail to Facebook/Twitter! What about those people who pay for their image hosting? Will LJ host the photos or will they simply hotlink to it? Also, what if the photo is of something very private, like snapshots from your child's birthday?

This is getting worse and worse. I sincerely hope that no one on my flist who has enabled Facebook/Twitter and/or opted into Cyrillic services will crosspost their comments, especially not those with quoted entry text.

I've been following this with interest, since I have a Facebook account for keeping in touch with family that lives abroad, and people I work with. Some of my family members are very conservative and old fashioned. My colleagues are all good people, but I still prefer keeping my professional life separate from my fannish life.

It should go without saying that if you've activated the connect in your settings not to crosspost comments posted in my journal or quotes from my entries/comments in your Facebook or Twitter, especially those posted under flock. I don't mind my public posts being shared and discussed on LJ, but I would prefer them not to be posted outside.

I don't have the intention of ever activating this feature so it will not be possible for me to crosspost my comments in your entries either deliberately or by accident. I've updated my welcome post, and will add a link to this entry as well.

I decided to install the Stylish extension and this userscript because I was getting fed up looking at the blinking icons every time I went to the home page to upload a pic to Scrapbook or do some layout tweaks, and noticed in one of the comments a question of why the English version of LJ doesn't have a nice layout like the Russian LJ. I clicked on the link provided.

Lo and behold.

. o_O .. O_O ...

It looks so... modern. And it shows you your stats! Why can't we get something like that? Or at least an option for us to customize the main page according to our needs. I know that not everyone uses it, but I do, since that's where all the links to layout management and customization are, and that's my starting point for working as a mod - managing the comm, members, posts waiting for moderation in the queue, invitations...

I hate having to look at all that crap they've piled on the page, even if it's for the time it takes me to go somewhere else. I had to enable Cyrillic services just so I wouldn't have to look at it while signed in. :(

I'm getting notifications hours after someone posts a comment/someone responds to a comment I posted on their journal. :iz unhappy:

Wow, so LJ broke changed the site navigation. I don't like it one bit. All the things I use often have been moved/changed, and I can't find my way around any more without stopping often and hovering over links.

And what's with the language? "My stuff" for profile?! A lot of people have been complaining about that. And really, what are we, twelve, to refer to our profiles that way? Not pleased at all. :(

Are any of you having trouble accessing various comms on LJ using Mozilla based browsers? I can't open [livejournal.com profile] 7men1destiny at all in Firefox/Flock, but I can open it using Opera and IE8. The page just keeps loading and loading indefinitelly. It annoys the hell out of me because Flock is my default browser and I have all the blogging addons on it.

I found out about this reading one of the design comms I'm a member of.

There seems to be a person out there hacking into hight-traffic journals and comms and deleting every single entry. You can read about it here and here.

While our journals are not high-traffic (at least I don't think so), I thought it would be prudent to let you know about what's happening, since some of you may be members/mods of comms that are.

I will post this at the [livejournal.com profile] 7men1destiny comm as well. Please read the linked entries carefully, they may prevent you from losing all your data!
