Latest watercolor

Done following the instructions from the Walter Foster book on painting animals with watercolor. I intend to go through all the animals in the book.

Thank you! It didn't turn out exactly how I wanted: her wing and chest feathers are too yellow adn should be a more subdued brown. I still don't have enough control over the brush: the the stroke down the middle of her chest should dissolve seamlessly into the belly, and right now it's a sudden stop.

But I like it, and I didn't trace it at all, it was a free hand drawing and watercolors. :)

it's still way more talent than i posses. i'm always frustrated cause i get these images in my head that i can't put down on paper at all. fortunately, i've found out that i also enjoy modifying original patterns and stuff to suit my purpose, and i'm pretty good at that. :-D

but i always admire *anyone* who can free-hand anything in a realistic style/ manner. i say again: kudos! :)

I have no idea. :) The book didn't specify the name of the species. I'd like to know though, because it's very pretty.
