Radovan Karadzic FINALLY arrested!

Times Online reports that

"Radovan Karadzic, one of the world’s most wanted men, was arrested yesterday 13 years after he was first indicted by the United Nations War Crimes Tribunal.

The 63-year-old war crimes suspect faces genocide charges for his role in the massacre of more than 8,000 Muslim men and boys at Srebrenica in Europe’s worst atrocity since the Second World War, and for organising the siege of Sarajevo which claimed 12,000 lives."

I heard it on the news as I drove to work, and thought of you and yours. There can ever be toal justice for what happened, but heopefully there will be some that will help the survivors just a little.

I have this nagging fear that someone's gonna get to him while he's in custody, to prevent him from spilling the beans on those who took part in the war alongside of him. Even now there are those who are adamant that what happened here was a civil war, even though my country was officially recognized by UN and most of the world at the time of aggression.

It's almost dawn and I still can't sleep. I can hear the sound of celebration outside, people honking their horns, and singing. It's pouring outside, and it feels like heaven itself is crying in relief that things are finally going in the right direction.

It's a relief to have at least one of the masterminds in jail, and this is a man who was a psychiatrist, for crying out loud. His legacy is still very much alive, unfortunately, with plenty of people willing to continue his work.
