And plenty of people laughed. There were some who didn't, and I was glad of that. Loki's broken anough about his place in that family as it is to have someone basically put their relationship as something that wasn't real, or wasn't of same importance as it would be if the relationship was a blood one instead.

I had no problem with the Hulk beatdown scene. Loki was being an arrogant jerk there, and Hulk being Hulk, of course he would deal with Loki that way. And no matter how much I like Loki as a character, and Tom HIddleston as an actor that portrays him, if Loki were a real person, after being caught I'd first try to find out as much as possible about his species, about his life in Asgard and provide him with some much needed therapy, and try to find some way for him to make reparations for his actions. Because it is obvious that catching him and punishing him the Asgardian way just makes him more vicious and insane.
