Netbook!

I took the plunge and bought myself a netbook. It was getting more and more difficult to juggle my 15" laptop, 40+ handouts for students, their assignments written in class, plus any homework assignments they thought to print out and bring to class.

It's a ViewSonic 10" netbook, who I'm told make good monitors, displays, digital photo frames and such. It didn't come with a lot of software, which is good. It has Windows 7 Starter, plus a trial version of Office. I will most likely uninstall it and install OpenOffice. I've already installed Firefox and Thunderbird, most of my e-book readers, 7zip and Foxit Reader. I'll have to see if there's anything else I will need. Any suggestions?

Oh! What's a good comics viewer program? Simple, free, no muss, no fuss.

My replacement netbook also has Windows 7 starter, and I hate hate hate hate it!! I think I'm going to uninstall and put Windows XP back on it!!

For comics, I always use http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CDisplay. I have a copy of it in my mediafire folder. Should be the same link as the Push comics....

Congratulations! New toy! :)

Hm, for a comic reader I use this. And I would suggest Dropbox if you plan to move files back and forth. It's hard to explain and I didn't even know about it until one of the producers of Leverage (on his blog, Kung-fu Monkey) talked about how useful it was. I tried it and I was hooked. Here's a referral which will net an extra 250 MBs of storage space if you decide you like it. The first 2GBs of space is free. (Free is always nice!)
